Inserting and Expanding Macros

Macros in the Advisor Desktop are a set of commands that expands into articles, paragraphs, or simple sentences, which are inserted as part of the response to customers. You can use macros while composing a quick reply to a customer. Macros are a time saving device to help you respond faster and efficiently.

To insert and expand a macro:
  1. In the Text box toolbar in the Reply pane, click the Add macro button to add macro.

The Select Macro window appears.

  1. From the window select the macro you want to use in the message sent to the customer. Click OK to close the window.

  2.  If you want to expand the macro, click the Expand macro button.

  3. Make your selection of macros and click OK.

  4. If you know the name of the macro, in the text box, type the macro name preceded by two single reversed prime characters (`). The macro is expanded when the message is sent.

You can also add macros to an email using shortcut keys. Press and hold Ctrl + M then select the desired macro from the dropdown list to add it into the body of the email reply.
